I've been thinking about the initial situation and even that is turning out to be tricky with the standards I have. A lot of isekai stories start with the birth of the protagonist in a different body, with their mind fully intact. It's convenient because you can get right into the plot with first-person narration, but I don't like it because it just doesn't make sense to me. Your mind is in your brain, which means factors like the brain not being fully developed yet should affect your mind. The dragon isekai even makes a joke about ignoring this factor.
I guess you can gloss over it because the whole premise is supernatural, so might as well accept that this is part of it. But I want to see if I can handle it without resorting to this approach.
