They're basically just like human legs, but with different proportions and different ranges of angles of individual parts.

People who don't know much about anatomy commonly think that animal legs are bent the other way instead, because they think the ankle is the knee. The wording "human-like knee orientation" points to this as their understanding of animal legs, otherwise they'd know the orientation isn't different.
