@Jain No, volumes were still there. But for some reason it deleted database containers which were running, and I couldn't create new ones because the Docker version is so old it can't communicate with the registry anymore. So backup restore it is.
(We also have a server with a new Docker version, but we haven't moved most applications over yet)
