Not even an if, but a once, like it's a given they will achieve AGI even though the tech hasn't really improved on a fundamental level since it became popular. 
Like sure, they run on weaker hardware now and made some small architectural adjustments and train more strategically. But LLMs still require more training data than the entire fucking internet contains, they still make shit up, they are still unpredictable, and they can still be ""hacked"".
