A Facebook post showing someone holding an opened disk drive in their hand, touching the topmost platter with their bare finger. The post says: I'm trying to extract the data off this laptop hard disk. I've got as far as taking the drive apart. Do I need to take the disk off the spindle or leave it on there? Also what drive recovery hardware and software do I use (that's my next step)? Yes I know my thumbprints are on it but I'll scrub that off.
