@kura I talked about it in-depth here: volpeon.ink/notebook/modern-social-media/

My post now was prompted by a complaint about typing quirks. It's really just another variation of the exact same situation we see over and over again on here about using CWs, using alt text etc.

But will this situation ever be fixed? No. Nobody ever challenges the base assumptions of microblogging. At least not in a way that has lead to results thus far.

I need a counter for all these times I see a post on here talking about problems on this network that can all be traced back to Twitter-like design being so far removed from reality that it only causes problems.

hash.update(data: crypto.BinaryLike)
"Updates the hash content. [...] If data is Buffer, TypedArray or DataView, then inputEncoding is ignored."
Use a Buffer as parameter
"Argument of type 'Buffer' is not assignable to parameter of type 'BinaryLike'"
Good type definitions you got there, Node

Are they splitting the post by spaces to do the emoji substitution? Why not just regex?

I see Mastodon frontends still require a zero-width-space between consecutive emojis. woozy_baa

@Erpel I realize this is not going to be most people's cup of tea, but I primarily use YouTube for watching channels I subscribed to and basically never browse. For that use case, adding channels to an RSS reader and playing videos with mpv+yt-dlp is really great

@kura I place buildings randomly on the map and like I said, they "grow" and merge to form larger structures. Of course, there are also roads and parks. For the roads, I subdivide the map randomly.

New plan for my bot: I will generate the buildings by having them "grow", so it all starts with 1x1 buildings which get taller. The taller it gets, the higher the chance it will merge with an adjacent building into a 1x2 one. The resulting images will probably look pretty different from what I showed first, but that's actually good

For my part, I haven't noticed much change in Google's usability. I always seem to find what I want without any trouble, like I always have.
This person is clearly not using the same Google as the rest of us
