@Jain No, volumes were still there. But for some reason it deleted database containers which were running, and I couldn't create new ones because the Docker version is so old it can't communicate with the registry anymore. So backup restore it is.
(We also have a server with a new Docker version, but we haven't moved most applications over yet)

I noticed that whenever people run a website with the explicit intention to replicate the pre social media internet, they lean very heavily into the retro aspect with pixelated monospace fonts, harsh colors and what not. Personally, I find these hard to use and I'd be more happy with a phpBB-era design like here: www.phpbb.com/community/
