Oh, right, one more bug from the previous version: if you reflow a multi-page document (turning single pages into doubles pages or vice versa, changing the starting side), then all masks are turned into regular layers. I didn't check if that still happens.
Like, this isn't the first time they released an update to fix some things and break others in the process. Exporting slices crashed the program, which sucked because I use this feature a lot. Now they fixed it, and instead
- if you use more than 1 document palette, only the first one works normally. I use multiple palettes to group them by subject. - if you copy a linked layer (the symbols feature) they become unlinked so that changes won't be reflected in the others, but without indicating so in the UI as expected. The way I manage layers, I use them for some shading and fur patterns so they stay aligned.
So they keep managing to add bugs that are a pain in the ass to me.
I started to trust V3 because the Affinity Patcher allows me to use it without an account. But there's nothing it can do against the quality going to hell
It's still early into the comic project. I think the best way forward is porting individual panels to Affinity V2 and referencing them in the V3 file that combines them into pages. Why not use V2 for that as well? Because unfortunately I use 2 filters that only exist in V3. But at least I only apply them to whole panels or this setup wouldn't even be possible.
I wanted to downgrade, but apparently my file uses features that aren't backward compatible (whatever they may be?). So that makes me pretty damn uncomfortable
