Video players are such a perfect example of design over function. You move your cursor and the UI is overlaid on top, hiding part of the video and usually also subtitles. Old video players never had this issue at all.
The Samsung video player on my smartphone is a bit smarter and moves the subtitles to keep them readable, so it gets props for that.

Suddenly having an annoying problem where some applications using my AMD GPU start lagging really badly. They're literally unusable. Firefox is not among them, interestingly, but mpv and Zed are.

@hexaitos I switched from EndeavourOS to CachyOS about a year ago and it's been running great. I like to think it runs a bit faster since it ships binaries with more modern CPU features enabled, but that might as well be a placebo. neofox_lul
