I still need to think about topics to write about on my website. One thing I want to avoid is becoming yet another tech-focused site, because I'm not even that invested in technology, which is also a big reason why a lot of forums left aren't appealing to me

@volpeon Basically "I want to write whatever I want and if anybody doesn't like it they shouldn't read it", except Elon is blocking posts with the word "cis" and removing community notes from under is own posts because they keep calling out his bullshit, which is both the opposite of what they said. But of course, when people use "freedom" like that it usually means "freedom for me".

@volpeon There's also a massive contradiction in the post related to the above sentiment that makes it really hard not to point out, but it's in a forum thread that isn't about politics and I don't want to derail it. Fucking hell, I hate contradictions like that.

Here we go, now the chest area looks way better. I always winged it (pun intended wvrnMlem ), but I realized how I can improve both my sense of anatomy and how to draw the fur better with a simple helper shape

I think all these recent important happenings are weighing on my mind. When I'm stressed, my desire to be a creature gets stronger. It's a natural target for escapism because there's this naive allure to it that becoming a creature would make all of the stupid human worries go away.

Re:Zero spoiler? The biggest letdown of the current season was finding out that one witch transforms people via her blood, has transformed someone into a fucking dragon, Subaru getting that blood inside of him, and instead of him becoming a dragon as well the transformation is cancelled by some preexisting curse neofox_googly_shocked

I talked about it before, but might as well do it here again because I'm in a strong dragon mood lately.

I've always had some light sleepwalking tendencies. When I was younger, that entailed walking though the house, but as I got older, it became more localized, so at least I don't have to worry about falling down the stairs. wvrnFlat
It's interesting how this works. During such episodes, I perceive my surroundings, but it's like a dream is overlaid on top which changes the way I think. I believe certain things are fundamentally true, just like when you're in a dream and, say, your job is entirely different from your real one, but you don't question it because it's your reality in that dream.

It doesn't happen often, and even then it's usually something annoying that keeps me up at night. But sometimes, I "wake up" and I'm convinced I can turn into any creature at will. So I try doing that for about a minute, until I become aware enough to realize that it's just a dream. That short time until then is pure freedom.
I've had dreams where I wasn't human either, but none of them came even remotely close to this feeling. And neither can pretending (via VR or roleplay or whatever), because then I know deep down that I'm a human who can't possibly become something else.
But during these sleepwalking episodes, I truly believe, from the bottom of my heart, without any doubt at all, that I can turn into a creature. I can't describe just how good it feels to be rid of this deep-seated awareness even for just a few seconds.

Now that the angle of the drawing is different, I also have to redo the shading of the one foot I drew. And that got me thinking, maybe I should make them more bird-like after all drgn_think
