And once the work day is over, I come home to my piece of virtual land knowing the (real) loan I took to purchase it has gotten a little bit smaller yet again, and that in a few months I will finally be able to afford virtual workers to build a virtual building in this virtual land
Oh gee, I wonder why none of it has gone anywhere. I can't imagine anything more fun than sitting in a virtual meeting room looking at a powerpoint presentation on a virtual screen, depleting the life force of everyone involved. It's truly a mystery
"Oh you want to be a dragon? How weird and unprofessional. What would your fellow human beings think? No, all you get is a copy of your face on a humanoid torso. The legs will be added later maybe."
To be clear, this wasn't a diss at VR, but rather corpos who're faced with a technology to create entire worlds free of physical constraints, and all they come up with is boring corpo bullshit and bringing back all the constraints from the physical world.
@IceWolf I consider Firefish's method to be the gold standard: posts are only indented if there are sibling replies, otherwise it's a linear list for the given depth. It's great at keeping threads readable and still easy to understand.
Remember when corpos were hyped about VR and came up with all those exciting virtual realities where you can be your worksona and have virtual meetings?
I just remembered something mildly interesting: Remember that shitty Baytrail tablet I installed Linux on? When it shows the boot selector (systemd-boot), the countdown is a ridiculously high number. It does work correctly, so after 10 seconds it just boots automatically, but it shows something like 22853035945s. I wonder if it's because of the 32-bit UEFI?
Please let me know when VR works like in the movies and anime (Perfect immersion, no controllers, you don't accidentally tear down your TV or bump your hand into the wall at 200 km/h, the virtual body has completely replaced your physical one, everything feels real)
For the testing phase I'm keeping the bot close to this design so I can compare its performance, but afterwards I'll draw completely new assets to not make the pictures look like rip-offs of this one.
