@lambda Sure, but what's stopping them from showing the static UI and instantly replacing it with the JS version once that's ready? Why assume the JS will work when it isn't loaded yewt and make the static UI unusable with a splash screen?

Yes, the point about the menu is important. The old monitor has 5 buttons next to each other and I loathe changing any settings because I keep hitting the wrong buttons. Everything about its usability is bad. Switching inputs? Okay, but don't wait too long or the monitor goes into standby and won't respond to button presses for 3 seconds. This thing fucking sucks.

I'm looking to replace one of my monitors which is showing its age. Any recommendations for one that's
- 27"
- 4K
- IPS (or better)
- Whose menu isn't an absolute fucking pain to use
- Whose main use case is vector art and programming, no gaming stuff necessary

@Legion495 Same here. It's still annoying, though, because they're between the mandatory morning break and lunch break. With one jour fixe, I could still work on bigger tasks between these two breaks, but now I have less than 1 consecutive hour and I don't want to do bigger tasks because I'd probably get interrupted by something.

The problem has apparently been introduced by a commit in Mesa which says:
gallium: de-pointerize pipe_surface
this allows eliminating surface refcounting and objects which, relatively speaking, don't serve much purpose

@Legion495 We are two teams with pretty different responsibilities, but sometimes my boss gives me tasks for the other team because there's some degree of overlap. This time my tasks are big enough to warrant being in the other team's jour fixe, too.
