The cookie consent stuff should've all been implemented via browser APIs so that asshole companies don't even have the faintest say in what the UI asking for consent looks like. Companies want to be assholes, but browser vendors don't give a shit if Mark's Shitty Company feels entitled to sharing your data with their polycule of 3214957863215049 other companies.
