Will be interesting to see what a difference it makes. It uses the x86-64-v4 repo, so that should be a stronger boost than on my computer which only supports v3.

As a general rule: I always try to approach software topics from both a technical and a regular user perspective. Just because I know nerd stuff doesn't mean I'm fine with functional UIs that may let me do anything, but are bad to use, because guess what: usability is a fucking nice thing to have and I don't see why only "normal" users are allowed to have that. "uuh who cares about dumb normies, I can use this just fine 🤓" Fuck all the way off into the sun with that attitude. How dare you make people think I might be like that.

I'm not replying to the original post because it feels like I would be pedantic or stirring shit. But I don't quite agree with this. You aren't only affected by decisions your own instance admins make, but also those of other instances. If you interact with someone in a regular basis and their admins decided to suspend you for whatever reason, then it doesn't matter who your admins are, your connection will be severed. You would've had no choice in this.

Obviously, communities must be able to keep certain people away. The issue is rather that as I said a lot lately, instances as communities doesn't really hold and moderation decisions have more invasive effects than anywhere outside of fedi. Imagine if a Discord server kicked you out and you couldn't talk with any of its members ever again.
