Recently found a search result which pointed to the Arch forums. Someone posted an explanation a few months after the last post for anyone finding the thread, and the only thing that happened was complaining about necroposting and spoon-feeding the solution, and the thread getting closed. It's really no surprise forums have been dying when miserable pricks like that are the ones running them
Something Linux has really figured out in recent years — at least judging from my recent experiences — is printers. There are two connected to the network, and I replaced one of them today. It showed up in my printer list on its own, ready to use without any action on my part. Can't say the same about all the Windows computers here.
I was testing how to add a header to my website's home page and put it at the bottom. You don't see this choice often, but I remember seeing this many years ago in a website template I liked a lot. It also gave me a nice idea for the new drawing I was planning to do which includes all 3 of my characters
