@Soblow Wait, you're right. There's also an rmpc binary in /usr/bin which is 0.10.0. Where the fuck does the 0.4.0 version come from??? neofox_googly_shocked

@Soblow No, what I meant is that this is the pacman version and there's nothing else. And in order to fix it, I'm now going to uninstall the pacman version and build it myself from git

$ which rmpc

/usr/local/bin/rmpc

$ file /usr/local/bin/rmpc

/usr/local/bin/rmpc: ELF 64-bit LSB executable, ARM aarch64, version 1 (SYSV), statically linked, not stripped

I'm building it myself now

@lanodan Always reminds me of these idiots I had to work with on a project in university. They saw my cheap Baytrail tablet with Windows and went "eww, Windows". I had tried running Linux on that thing for days and it ran like shit and had no sound or WiFi, so obviously Windows was the better choice there. woozy_baa

@coffee It's just one example of many. Another one: I find AI as a technology fascinating and experimented with it myself in the past. But if I only said that, I know people would show up to tell me how bad AI is and I'd probably also outright get blocked by some, because they don't know I keep criticizing AI all the damn time as well.

edit: The point is, microblogging too easily removes the context for anything and this leads to these annoying situations.

@aearo It hasn't been released yet, but I'm keeping an eye on Migration:

They post video clips on Bluesky every once in a while and it looks really good:

@catraxx It's bad enough that I fully expect these replies to happen whenever I post about a Windows problem. wvrnFlat

I got drive-by Linux evangelism in response to the Windows post earlier and it highlights once again why I dislike microblogging the way it is. If they knew me, they'd know I already use Linux. I understand why people won't necessarily gain this knowledge here, though, because fuck no, I'm not going to review everyone's post history which is like 95% irrelevant noise before replying. But I also don't want to explain my values and such over and over again. Such an annoying situation all around. You never had this problem when communities were smaller and more tight-knit so you knew each other better.
