It may seem minor, but I think this makes it clearer that the brown fur isn't that floofy and it's actually the fur on the back which is very floofy

@yassie_j I think a lot of people use blocking as some sort of punishment. If it was only about removing you from their view, they could simply mute you. But what blocking does in addition to that is denying you access to their absolutely amazing posts, which you will now miss because you dared having opinions which annoyed them. Serves you right.

@krutonium The monitor doesn't support DDC/CI so for now I'll just stick with it turning off. wvrnFlat I have an idea for a software-side solution, though

"But what if someone got your email password—" At least that would be my own fucking fault for using a bad password. And that never happened. Guess what just happened, though? Someone else may have gotten my phone number and can now access my accounts. Fuck all the way off.

So 2 years ago I got a secondary SIM to use certain services insisting on needing a phone number. I haven't used it enough so the provider deactivated it. And that means now some stranger could swoop in and do whatever with these accounts. This is why I despise phone numbers as primary identification method. woozy_baa

Is there a way in Gnome to dim the screen rather than blank it after the idle threshold? wlfThink

If it weren't getting expensive, I'd plaster my whole home with such screens and work on pretty UIs to show and control stuff

@stefan It really is, but I didn't even consider it at first because in my mind it was still this resource-intensive hog that would probably run at 2 FPS.

I'm using the Raspi as a music server!
:areon3NHappy: I put the touch screen on my desk between my regular screens and keyboard to show me information about the current playback and let me control it. The music server is mpd so I could also control it from my computer and smartphone, but it's nice to have something more permanent.

After trying many different solutions, it turns out that Gnome not only runs well on my Raspi 4, it's also the most usable solution for a small but very wide 1280x400 touch display.
