My new website is online. You can't see a difference, but now it's built with Lume. woozy_baa Initial build was 15 minutes, but now that things are cached it's only 30 seconds. Astro always took 2.5 minutes despite caches.

@pixel Yes wyvUwu While Astro has very nice handling, its automagic nature also sometimes makes it hard to do things the way I want. Lume feels more tailored for a static site like mine and I find it easy to write plugins to get the behaviors I want (such as some JSX enhancements lifted from Astro, or putting icons in an SVG spritesheet instead of making them separate files).
